B.C. Ferries’ website, app and call centre went down on Monday, the last day of the busy May long weekend.

Anyone checking the website to make a reservation or check ferry schedules was met with the message, “Our site is currently unavailable. We’re working to get back up and running. Try again soon.” The B.C. Ferries app also stopped functioning, but the phone system has since been restored.

In a Tweet on Monday morning, B.C. Ferries blamed an “IT outage” for the issues and said it was working to restore service.

In an update at 12:47 p.m., B.C. Ferries said it was “making progress” toward restoring website and app service. Just before 2 p.m., it said the phone system had been restored.
